The Smart Lock U200 smart lock set consists of an outdoor and an indoor unit (and their fittings). The two units communicate wirelessly with each other. The indoor unit, which rotates the cylinder lock, should be installed on the protected side, and the keypad should be installed outside the door.
The U200 features a retrofit design that allows for hassle-free installation on existing doors without requiring significant modifications or renovations. It is compatible with most European and North American doors, including various types of European cylinders. The U200 aims to bring a modern keyless lifestyle to a wide range of homeowners and renters while retaining the option to use traditional keys. Users can enjoy easy access sharing, remote access control, and real-time lock status updates for added convenience and security.
The Aqara U200 utilizes modern technical solutions, providing users with multiple secure access options. The door can be opened with fingerprints (up to 50 patterns), one-time and recurring PIN codes, remote or local access via mobile apps, voice assistant commands, or Aqara NFC cards. Aqara is also working to add HomeKey support to the U200 lock, which will enable iOS users to unlock the door simply by tapping compatible iPhones and Apple Watches. The U200 is one of the first Matter-compatible locks, making it a future-proof choice for users.
The keypad (outdoor unit) can be powered by 4 AAA batteries or a fixed 12-24V AC or DC power supply. The indoor unit operates on a Li-Ion battery, which can be recharged via a USB Type-C connection under the snap-on decorative cover. Thanks to the energy-efficient Thread protocol, the U200 lock can offer up to 6 months of battery life between charges (based on 8 fingerprint/NFC unlock and lock cycles per day). Additionally, the wireless keypad boasts an IPX5 rating and can withstand extreme heat and cold (-18℃ – 66℃), offering a wide range of application possibilities.
As an integral part of the home, the U200 smart lock efficiently collaborates with other smart home accessories, allowing users to create a fully automated and personalized smart home experience. For instance, with the Aqara app’s alarm functions, interactions can be created when a family member unlocks the U200 or activates the indoor camera and video doorbell after consecutive failed unlock attempts.
The U200 can be paired with the Aqara Home app via Bluetooth or the Aqara Hub M3. Compatibility with third-party Matter-compatible platforms (e.g., Amazon Alexa, Apple Home, Google Home, Samsung SmartThings, Home Assistant) is expected to roll out in waves.
HomeKey unlock support is currently under development and is expected to become available through a future OTA update after the lock receives certain certifications.
Restrictions apply. Please check the Kickstarter page or contact Aqara customer support for detailed guidance on U200 lock compatibility.
