The GLEDOPTO GL-C-116WL-RF AeX2gis is a dual-channel WLED controller for digitally addressable LED strips. It features two separate LED data outputs, with the manufacturer specifying support for up to 800 LED ICs per channel. The two outputs can be configured as separate WLED segments, allowing two LED strips or two independent lighting sections to be controlled from a single controller.

The controller operates with a 5, 12 or 24 V DC power supply. It supports up to 10 A output current per channel and up to 20 A total. Each LED output has its own relay and fuse, allowing the power supply to the LED strips to be disconnected when WLED is switched off. In addition to the two data channels, three free GPIO connections are available for integrating push-buttons, switches, PIR sensors or other accessories.

The GL-C-116WL-RF can be controlled via Wi-Fi through WLED as well as with compatible 2.4 GHz RF remote controls. The WLED web interface and compatible applications provide colour, brightness, effect and segment control for addressable LEDs, while the controller can also use WLED automation and integration features. The product is primarily intended for DIY users familiar with WLED and addressable LED systems; WLED documentation and community support are also relevant for detailed configuration.

About GLEDOPTO

GLEDOPTO primarily manufactures smart LED lighting products and controllers. Its product range includes LED strip controllers, light sources, dimmers, RGB, RGBW, CCT and RGB+CCT lighting controllers, as well as solutions based on Zigbee, Matter, Thread, Wi-Fi and WLED.

Depending on the model, GLEDOPTO smart lighting controllers can be integrated into various smart home systems and lighting control environments. WLED-based models are primarily designed for creating customisable DIY lighting systems that operate over a local network.

Key product features

  • Two LED data channels: Two digitally addressable LED strips can be connected to the V+, DATA and GND outputs. The data signals are provided by GPIO IO2 and IO16.
  • Up to 800 LED ICs per channel: The manufacturer specifies support for up to 800 LED ICs on each data channel.
  • Dual-channel relay and fuse design: Each of the two LED outputs has its own relay and fuse.
  • Wi-Fi and 2.4 GHz RF control: In addition to WLED network control, compatible GLEDOPTO 2.4 GHz RF remote controls can also be used.
  • 5–24 V DC operation: Suitable for addressable LED systems operating at 5, 12 or 24 V DC.
  • 20 A maximum total output current: Up to 10 A per channel and up to 20 A combined across both channels.
  • DIY GPIO connections: GPIO IO5, IO18 and IO33 can be configured for push-buttons, switches, PIR sensors or external relays.
  • AudioReactive support: The controller includes a microphone configuration for use with the WLED AudioReactive function.

Smart home protocols and platform compatibility

  • Wi-Fi: The controller connects to the local network over Wi-Fi, through which the WLED interface can be accessed.
  • 2.4 GHz RF remote control: In addition to Wi-Fi, the controller also supports direct radio-frequency remote control. The manufacturer lists the GL-RC-009S and GL-RC-208 2.4 GHz RF remotes as compatible models.
  • WLED: The controller runs WLED firmware and can be managed through the WLED web interface and WLED-compatible applications.
  • WLED remotes: The manufacturer lists the GL-RC-001WL and GL-RC-002WL as compatible WLED remote controls.
  • Local network control: The WLED local web interface does not require a manufacturer’s cloud service.
  • Smart home integration: Through WLED’s integration options, the controller can be integrated into smart home and automation systems that support WLED, including Home Assistant.
  • MQTT: Through WLED’s MQTT support, the controller can also be connected to MQTT-based automation systems.

Smart features

  • Two separate LED outputs: Two digitally addressable LED strips or LED sections can be configured in WLED.
  • Colour and brightness control: The colour and brightness of compatible addressable LEDs can be adjusted through the WLED interface.
  • Dynamic lighting effects: WLED’s built-in animations and effects can be used with the connected LEDs.
  • Segment control: The LEDs can be divided into separate segments, each with different colours, brightness levels and effects.
  • Presets: WLED settings and lighting states can be saved as presets and recalled later.
  • 2.4 GHz RF control: Basic lighting functions can be controlled using a compatible RF remote independently of Wi-Fi control.
  • AudioReactive function: With a suitable microphone configuration, WLED sound- and music-reactive lighting effects can also be used.
  • GPIO expansion: IO5, IO18 and IO33 can be configured in WLED for push-buttons, switches, PIR sensors or external relays.
  • Web interface: Lighting and controller configuration are accessible through a web browser on the local network.
  • Factory reset: Holding the function button for approximately 10 seconds resets the WLED controller and reactivates the WLED-AP access point.

Electrical features

  • Supply voltage: 5 V, 12 V or 24 V DC.
  • Maximum input current: 20 A.
  • Output current: Up to 10 A per channel.
  • Maximum total output current: 20 A.
  • LED outputs: 2 separate digital LED outputs with V+, DATA and GND connections.
  • LED data channel 1: IO2.
  • LED data channel 2: IO16.
  • Two relay outputs: Separate relays are available for switching the power supply of the two LED channels. In the WLED relay configuration, Relay0 uses GPIO21 and Relay1 uses GPIO19.
  • Two fuses: Each of the two high-current LED outputs is protected by its own fuse.
  • USB-C power input: 5 V DC, up to 3 A.
  • DC power connector: 5, 12 or 24 V DC, up to 5 A; 5.5 × 2.1 mm connector.

Richard McClintock, a Latin scholar from Hampden-Sydney College, is credited with discovering the source behind the ubiquitous filler text. In seeing a sample of lorem ipsum, his interest was piqued by consectetur—a genuine, albeit rare, Latin word. Consulting a Latin dictionary led McClintock to a passage from De Finibus Bonorum et Malorum On the Extremes of Good and Evil, a first-century B.C. text from the Roman.

Carried only by professionals

So when is it okay to use lorem ipsum? First, lorem ipsum works well for staging. It’s like the props in a furniture store—filler text makes it look like someone is home. The same Wordpress template might eventually be home to a fitness blog, a photography website, or the online journal of a cupcake fanatic. Lorem ipsum helps them imagine what the lived-in website might look like.
