New Shelly Bypass R2 version, released in September 2022, is an accessory from Shelly which works together with Shelly 1L single-live-wire WiFi smart relay, and Shelly Dimmer 2 single-live-wire WiFi Smart dimmer relay. Use of Shelly Bypass is only required if small power consumption lights are used with the smart relays (such as LED lights).

Specifically, if:

Shelly 1L is used with a light or other electric device with lower performance than 20W, or
Shelly Dimmer 2 is used with a light with lower performance than 10W.

It is only required when Shelly 1L or Shelly Dimmer 2 is used in single-live-wire installation, that is, without neutral wire.
